Christmas is a time for the whole family to come together and have some fun. What better way than to play some games? Following are four games that are sure to invoke smiles and laughter from everyone.
4 Christmas Family Fun Day Games
Secret Snowman Game
FamilyFun Magazine has a huge list of family oriented games and activities. One cool game is Secret Snowman. It’s silly fun that is sure to brighten everyone’s day. First, you have to make a snowman, either out of paper or cardboard. Then you have to decorate and color your snowman. Maybe even give him a name. Place a loop of heavy tape on the snowman’s back. Now it’s time for the fun to begin. Each family member takes turns trying to “secretly” stick the snowman to someone else’s back. When that person discovers that the snowman is attached to them, they have to take it off and try to put it on someone else without getting caught. This game can continue throughout the day. The trick to it is trying not to laugh and give away the secret.
Family Trivia Game
Another great game is Family Trivia. You can be as creative as you want with this game. You will be sure to learn a few surprising, or even embarrassing facts about some of your family members. This game can be played as individuals or in teams. At the beginning of the game, family members write down questions about other family members that only family would know the answers to. If you really want to make it interesting, the questions can correspond to attached photos, videos, or sound clips. Have some fun with this. Who knows what secrets you may stumble across?!
Family Gift Wrapping Game
Here is an ingenious game. Have fun while completing a tedious task at the same time. Trick the kids into helping wrap all your gifts. We all know that wrapping presents can really become a chore. So here’s a fun way to get the job done. You can pair up or play individually. Have a large clean work space available. All the presents that need to be wrapped will go in one area. (Sorry, you’re obviously going to have to wrap your children’s presents on your own.) Each player or team will need scissors and tape. When the game begins, players race to wrap as many gifts as possible, until all the gifts are wrapped. The player or team with the most gifts is the winner. The catch is, there are no points awarded for a gift that is wrapped substandard. You can come up with your own prize for the winner. Maybe they get to open a present on Christmas Eve. The best part of the game is, you’ve got your wrapping done and the whole family had fun together doing it.
The Christmas Morning Guessing Game
One last game to play on Christmas morning. The winner of this game gets to open the first present. Have children try to guess what items might be in their stocking. Any item that is visible at the top of the stocking does not count. When they are all done guessing, they can open their stockings and count any items that they guessed correctly. A good way to end the fighting over who gets to open the first gift.
Christmas is always filled with joy and cheer. Hopefully, these ideas will make your holidays even brighter. They are a good way to bring the family closer and everyone is sure to have lots of fun!
