The 14-years wait is officially over because Disney•Pixar’s Incredibles 2 is Now in Theaters Everywhere.
The 14-years wait is officially over and my family and I just came back from seeing the sequel to the 2004 The Incredibles. Incredibles 2 is everything I had hope for and more. If you and your family are watching the film today or this weekend, I have gather a few fun facts and the latest clips available at the moments.
“The Underminer Has Escaped”
Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.
“Cookie”
Incredible 2 Fun Fact #1: DADDY DOLDRUMS – In “Incredibles 2,” Bob finds that keeping up with three kids, including a toddler with newly revealed super powers, is challenging—and tiring. Filmmakers strategically dressed the character to reflect his state of mind. The more tired Bob gets, the more grays and beiges he wears. And as he begins to take charge again, his wardrobe reflects his newfound confidence.
Incredibles 2 Fun Fact #2: BABY STEPS – For both “The Incredibles” and “Incredibles 2,” filmmakers studied real-life babies to capture baby Jack-Jack’s movements.
Meet the New Incredibles 2 Supers
“WANNABE” SUPERS are a group of second-rate Supers who aspire to join the ranks of the Incredibles, Frozone and other popular heroes. They team up with the Deavors to help bring Supers back.
- VOYD is a young, overeager mega-fan of Elastigirl. Her super power is the ability to divert and manipulate objects around her by creating voids that allow the objects to appear and disappear. Sophia Bush lends her voice to Voyd.
- BRICK is super tough with mega muscles and a fearless spirit that showcases her strong name.
- REFLUX is a senior who has the unsettling super power of heaving hot lava, which helps him break into some of the most secure locales.
- It’s mind over matter for KRUSHAUER who has the power of telekinesis. This guy can crush a car without even laying a hand on it.
- SCREECH sports big owl-like eyes and a head that rotates 360 degrees. He can fly, thanks to a pair of wings he made to complete his look, but his real power is a highpitched screech that can break glass.
- HE-LECTRIX can shoot lightning bolts from his fingertips. He’s high voltage, so it’s best to steer clear.
Incredibles 2 Fun Fact #3: RIBBIT – Artists were challenged when writer-director Brad Bird created a wannabe Super character, Reflux, whose super power is to heave hot lava. Making the character appealing was a huge challenge until artists turned to the frog for inspiration.
“Meeting The Deavors”
Incredibles 2 Fun Fact #4: DADDY DOLDRUMS – In “Incredibles 2,” Bob finds that keeping up with three kids, including a toddler with newly revealed super powers, is challenging—and tiring. Filmmakers strategically dressed the character to reflect his state of mind. The more tired Bob gets, the more grays and beiges he wears. And as he begins to take charge again, his wardrobe reflects his newfound confidence.
Incredibles 2 Fun Fact #5: PURRFECT – Winston’s super-smart sister Evelyn has the same tilt to her eyes that Winston sports, but artists chose a different animal to inspire her look. The character was often compared to a cat who is laidback, confident and comfortable wherever she goes.
“Bao” Short Film
Last but not least, Bao is the Pixar short playing in front of Incredibles 2. In Disney•Pixar’s “Bao,” an aging Chinese mom suffering from empty nest syndrome gets another chance at motherhood when one of her dumplings springs to life as a lively, giggly dumpling boy. Mom excitedly welcomes this new bundle of joy into her life, but Dumpling starts growing up fast, and Mom must come to the bittersweet revelation that nothing stays cute and small forever.
