For example, pulling the balloon back a little will create little force, while, pulling the balloon back a lot will great a bigger force. Secondly, the kids will learn about movement & estimation. Launch a mini marshmallow and try to estimate the distance it traveled. And finally, the kids will learn about friction. If you compare two object with different weights, which one will travel further and faster. This is a fun activity that the kids can do on a day off or on a rainy day. Word to the wise, assemble indoors, and launch outdoors to keep the bugs out. 😉
