Spending time with my parents is extremely important for us, since it is a challenge to get together during the week, we make the efforts to get together and see each other on weekends. During the Holiday season, it is customary for us to exchange ideas on the new resolutions & goals for the upcoming year. One of my goals this year is to bring my Mom into the 21st centuries by introducing her new technologies. My Mom is a hip & very smart lady, however, technology is not her stronghold. To this day she still carries a flip phone with large number key pad, imagine with so many technological advances? One of her favorite pass times is to play games on her tablet, I have tried several times to update her and allow her to carry one device for all her needs and wants; however, I have failed. This year this will change and she will be welcomed into a new era.

 

My Mom will not be the only one undergoing a change in the new year. I have also set a goal for myself, not only will I be attending school full time, but I have set a goal to lose 20 pounds by the end of the year. Yes, 20 pounds is not an unattainable goal. However, it might be for me because I cannot conduct high intensity power workouts, due to an old knee injury. To accomplish both goals, I know that I will require to keep myself accountable.

 

It has been a long road attempting to upgrade my Mom’s phone to the newest advanced smart phone. However, this time I am determined and no one, not even her, will be able to change my mind. For myself, I am beyond excited to have this technology at my finger tip, but mostly it will allow me to finally reach my goals this year.
