I remember in my younger years, watching my dad splashing on his face Old Spice after shaving. He had several shaving lotions but the one he always reached for was Old Spice. When I was about thirteen, my dad gave me Old Spice after shave as a Christmas gift. This was my turning point that sparked entering into manhood. My mother looked at me with teared eyed wishing I never grew up and stay little forever. There was no one in the room that would take this proud moment away from my dad, as his little boy was turning into a man. Throughout the years, I have smelled other scents before, however, I keep coming back to Old Spice since it always made my dad smell very manly. Check out the hilarious video below depicting the new Old Spice “Dad Song” campaigns, which focuses on moms & dads reactions their sons using Old Spice officially transition into manhood.

A tradition in our family is that we always greet each other with a hug and a kiss on the cheek. This is for any family member, aunts, cousins etc. if you marry into the family and go to a big gathering you greet every one in this tradition. They won’t take no for an answer as many men have discovered. I think they like it.

One of the family traditiions we have passed down that came from both sides is going out to see the Christmas lights. We make up hot cocoa in thermoses, popcorn that we pop, and take a drive around town admiring the lights. We normally take this drive anywhere from 3 or less days before Christmas.. Its really pretty to do this after a snowfall when the lights are sparkling in the night.

We pass down traditions by doing the activities each year and talking about them. We decorate the Christmas tree, make or buy an ornament for each child every year, eat special foods, etc.
