Earlier this year, we were fortunate enough to take a trip to some of our favorite parks to visit in Orlando, Florida. For sure one of our favorite parks is Universal Studios, because of their variety of theme rides they have created and most importantly, all of our different aged children, are able to experience all the rides here. Some of our kids’ favorites are Harry Potter and The Mummy, because of it’s theme, speed and overall experience.
Orlando Offers Something for Everyone
If you are planning a trip to Orlando, you should definitely make time to visit The Crayola Experience, The Coca-Cola Orlando Eye, Sea Life Orlando & the Madam Tussauds Wax Museum, and my personal favorite, Pandora – The World of AVATAR, the new land at Animal Kingdom.
Another great experience during our trip, apart from the theme parks the kids really enjoyed was visiting the Crayola Experience. They got to make sculptures out of crayolas, draw with colors they have never seen before, and use their automated virtual section to create their favorite painting. They even were able to experience creating their own sculptures and place them on a stage and watch them dance, which I believe was their favorite. Plan on stopping by here while you are in the Orlando area.
Your next stop in Orlando should include these three strategically located areas. These are The Coca-Cola Orlando Eye, Sea Life Orlando & the Madam Tussauds Wax Museum, all three-in-one location conveniently located in the i-Drive 360 complex.
The Coca-Cola Orlando Eye was a very thrilling and emotional experience for all of us, since we are all a bit fearful of heights. Once you board on the move, you are taken on a 400 foot-tall observation wheel with a 360 degrees overlooking breathtaking views of Orlando’s downtown skyline, all the theme parks, Orlando’s Landscape and lakes, even Cape’s Canaveral toward the East Coast, which we hope to visit soon. Right after the Coca-Cola Orlando Eye experience, we conveniently headed to Sea Life Orlando.
Sea Life Orlando Aquarium conveniently located next to the Coca-Cola Orlando Eye. The kids got to experience and see colorful Clown-fish, mid-size sea turtles, Giant Pacific octopuses, seahorses, large jellyfish, sting rays and most impact-full of all, the sharks. On of the features of Sea Life Orlando Aquarium included in some areas, a glass view dome that was actually integrated into the tanks allowing the kids to slide under and stand up inside the dome giving them an optical illusion to reach out and touching the fish inside the tanks. Another feature the kids enjoyed a whole bunch, was the Interactive Rock-pool feedings, where they got to feed Starfish, Sea Crabs and Sea Anemone, which they learned live in shallow waters. The last area to got to was Madam Tussauds Wax Museum.
Madam Tussauds Wax Museum was really an amazing place to take the kids to expand their knowledge. Madam Tassauds was a French artist known for her wax sculpture in the 1700’s, expanding the array of sculptures to the present. Madam Tussauds’ Wax Museum contains wax sculptures, such as today’s biggest celebrities, well known icons and leaders, sporting heroes, music stars, and famous film and TV show stars. One of our kids favorite feature of this museum was, they actually got to interact with some of the sculptures items, and dress up with some of the clothes to absorb what they really do. Their experience of the the Coca-Cola Orlando Eye, Sea Life Orlando and Madam Tussauds Wax Museum will remains in their happily childhood experiences. Based on our family’s experience here, I would highly recommend including these venues on your agenda.
To add our family’s experiences while in we were in Orlando, our last stop was, by far, my utterly favorite, the newest Animal Kingdom’s largest land expansion in the park’s history, Pandora-The World of Avatar.
Pandora – The World of AVATAR – opened as a new land at Animal Kingdom on May 27, 2017, which is the largest expansion in the park’s history. Also at Animal Kingdom, Rivers of Light is an innovative experience combining live performances, floating lanterns, water screens and swirling animal imagery. “Happily Ever After,” a new nighttime spectacular, debuted at Magic Kingdom Park. Also new is Miss Adventure Falls, a family-style raft attraction, which opened at Typhoon Lagoon.
Let me just tell you, you can not enter Pandora-The World of Avatar without experiencing the 3D ride, Avatar Flight of Passage and the Na’vi River Journey. As you walk in the park, and make your way to Pandora, you are quickly transported to the Alpha Centauri scenery, Pandora’s Floating Mountains, The Bio-Luminescent Forest and The Winged Mountain Flying Banshees. While awaiting for the evening hours, we experienced The Na’vi’s Valley of The Mo’ara glowing Fauna and Flora. Personally, if was if I was part of the actually movie. By far, us as well as our kids, enjoyed Pandora-The World of Avatar the most during our recent visit to Orlando, Florida. If you still have some time in Orlando, Florida, you can stay at Universal Orlando Resort to make your stay more fun and enjoyable.
Universal Orlando Resort – Volcano Bay, a brand new tropical island water park, will open May 25, 2017, featuring innovative, thrilling attractions and TapuTapu wearable technology for virtual queuing. The new ride, Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon, opened as well at Universal Studios Florida.
