Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker marks the end of the current Star Wars trilogy. The movie’s movie poster was finally release during this weekend’s D23 expo, which you can see below. The newly released movie poster features Rey and Kylo Ren in silhouette, lightsabers ignited while perched precariously on a piece of debris. In the background, bolts of lightning illuminate their struggle, highlighted in blue and red to match their opposing lightsaber blades. Finally, peering out from the background is the larger-than-life face of Emperor Palpatine.

The surviving Resistance faces the First Order once more as Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron’s journey continues. With the power and knowledge of generations behind them, the final battle commences.
During this weekend’s expo, the poster was not the only treat that was reveled. A D23 special look trailer was also release in which we get a glimpse of what’s to come when episode 9 – Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker releases in theaters on December 20, 2019.
