One of my wife’s favorite movies is The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend an advanced screening of the movie The Best of Me, also written be Nicolas Sparks. Preciously to attending the screening, I wasn’t familiar with the the book (by the same name), however, I was quite familiar with the movie, “The Notebook”. This fact only peeked my curiosity to see what was in store this time around. The Best of Me, starting James Marsden (Dawson Cole), Michelle Monaghan (Amanda Collier), Luke Bracey (Teen Dawson) and Liana Liberato (Teen Amanda) released in theaters yesterday. The Best of Me, is about high schools sweet hearts, that reunite after 21 years apart, back at their home town, to reconcile the passing of the “father-like” figure in the movie.
Once reunited, Dawson & Amanda, realize their attraction for one another has not diminished at all. It actually picks up where they left off, all those years ago. Their intensive attraction, and passion, questions each chosen paths, and their future paths as well. The memories and emotions come rushing back as they are both in places they spent time, all that time ago. Watch the movie, check you emotions at the counter, and on your way out, don’t try to ignore the knot in your throat, and hold your love one a bit tight forever. The Best of Me movie, touches on those emotion that sometimes make you wonder, what if. Would love to hear your feed back of the movie or the book.
