Peanuts fans rejoice, the gang is together again. The Peanuts movie hit theaters today and it is in 3D digital format. This past Tuesday, my family and I had the opportunity to attend a pre-screening of the movie and I was thrilled with what the animators at Blue Sky have done with the classic characters. The Peanuts movies manages to capture the spirit of the classic comic strip and add the crisp digital definition that we come to expect from a modern film. In the new The Peanuts movie, original characters, such as, Lucy Van Pelt, Linus, Peppermint Patty, Schroeder, Franklin, Snoopy, Woodstock and the others join Charlie Brown in a new adventure with under tones of the original comic strip.
The Peanuts Movie review
So, what did I liked about the movie? I liked that Blue Sky didn’t mess with the nostalgic elements that millions of fans around the world are used to seeing from the Peanuts. I liked that the filmmakers didn’t bring the Peanuts into our “modern” lifestyle, no modern phones and modern issues are found in the movie. As a parent, I appreciate the messages in the movie, such as honesty, friendship and perseverance. I also liked that the subject matter, music selection, and comedic timing kept the kids glued to the screen, that alone tells me that the movie is quite entertaining for kids ages under 12 and under (FYI. those are my kids age range). The kids were quite familiar with the characters before seeing the movie, so they enjoyed watching the characters in the 3D format. The kids were very interested in speaking about the issues in the story line, great talking points, so a win-win situation for us parents. Take the kids to see the movie today, they will enjoy as much as my kids did. Be sure to come back and drop us a note in the comment section below to let me know what you liked about the movie.
Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the beloved “Peanuts” gang make their big-screen debut, like they’ve never been seen before, in state of the art 3D animation. Charlie Brown, the world’s most beloved underdog, embarks upon an epic and heroic quest, while his best pal, the lovable beagle Snoopy, takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis, the Red Baron. From the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of the ICE AGE films, THE PEANUTS MOVIE will prove that every underdog has his day.
