You know that as a full time college student, I depend on my morning and afternoon coffee breaks. However, I also like to prepare treats for my kids, such as no-baked granola bars, and some specialty drinks. To celebrate the upcoming release of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie, I decided to prepare one of these specialty drinks to enjoy with the little ones. Check out my version of Yoda Hot Mint White Chocolate below.
Yoda Hot Mint White Chocolate
To make this Yoda Hot Mint White Chocolate all you need is the following ingredients:
- 4 cups of milk, half ‘n half or Lactaid milk (for those that are lactose intolerant)
- 1 cup of white chocolate chips
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
- 3-6 drops of green food coloring
- 1/4 cup sugar for rims of glasses
- Cool whip (if desired)
After you have gather all the ingredients above, you need to follow these directions:
- First, in a sauce pan, place your chosen milk on low heat. Add in white chocolate chips and peppermint extract. Stir everything together until chocolate is melted. Let the milk simmer for about 10 minutes. Do NOT let the milk come to a boil.
- After the chocolate has melted, add in 2 to 3 green food coloring drops to the milk.
- In a small mixing bowl, add 1/4 cup sugar, 2 to 3 green food coloring drops and mix well.
- Place rims of glasses in the sugar. Pour hot chocolate into the cups. Top with cool whip (if desired) and enjoy!
This drink is so good and the best part is that your kids will love drinking it and eating the green sugar of the glass rim. So, what do you think of my creation? If you decide to make it, make sure you make this Yoda Hot Mint White Chocolate drink on movie night and play them the first three episodes of Star Wars.
